I had a good run from Sintra towards Northern Portugal,i did not had much planned for the area in between.Region around Pinhao in northern Portugal is known for its vineyards. There are beautiful looking valleys around river Duoro and these valleys are filled up with the grapes which saves us all in crucial times.I wanted to carry couple of bottles from here but my bags were already filled up with the last duty free adventure in Andorra.Have been easy on the scotch as the beer was keeping me occupied most of the evenings. 🙂
Today evening,i had a bad heartbreak where my girl who is studying in Finland decided to break up with me because i told her clearly that ‘I may or may not be able to come to Helsinki after the end of the trip in London because there is a possibility that i might not have any time in hand to travel back and forth from London-Helsinki’.Well,I just tried to be honest. It is difficult to predict that in a given time-frame this trip will be finished or not.Though she was right on her point of view, but the timing was wrong.
I acted slightly stupid and all i did for next few days is ride and not even visit a single place,I guess that reaction is very normal for a emotional fool like me. 🙂
And the funny thing is,my trip ended a week early but i couldn’t visit her because we were not in talking terms. This is a classic example, how long roadtrips can affect your relationships or If you wanna break up then you know what needs to be done. 😀
For few days i smoked my lungs out,put my liver on stress test which has been in utter pressure already from past two months 🙂
On my way towards this side of Spanish coast,i visited Astroga and Burgos. It was quick flyby.
The Episcopal Palace of Astorga is Another marvel from Gaudi’s bucket.Outside of the building is the best part, but for 3.50€ it is worth seeing the inside too. This is only a hundred years old, built as the bishop’s residence. Pretty interior structure, but it houses relics that are not dated, nor is anything written in anything except Spanish.
La Catedral de Santa Maria – The architecture of this building is outstanding. Such a beautiful place, definitely worth visiting.
Burgos Cathedral – Unusual design with plenty of side chapels and two cloisters.
Arco De Santa Maria – Beautiful monument representing Burgos rich history and the pride the city has taken in the treatment of its landmarks.
With all this going on,i never knew when i left Portugal, crossed Spain and arrived back in France. However,i do remember how beautiful ride it was from Satander to San Sebastian. The only photo i have is from this campsite which was along the Spanish coast.
