I had good rest yesterday, which calls for an early start. Not that it suits my image of being lazy, but i am okay for an exception every now and then.It was a gloomy morning, dark clouds still looming over my head.Italy was quite close and as i crossed the border,I made a quick stop at Lago Predil. It was cold and buying the boots turns out to be a wise decision.
Welcome to Italia
As i rode towards Tolmezzo weather improved and so does the landscapes. For couple of days i had planned and dedicated all my ride and time to the Italaian Alps.Criss crossing around dolomites crossing various passes. They are beautiful and you have to trust me when i say that. You never get bored riding on those spotless curves to reach the top even though they might look all the same.Bonus point is,you see and meet a lot of motorcyclists and don’t be shy to say hello while you meet some.I found Italian motorcyclists to be very friendly 🙂
Lago Di Santa Caterina
I found few good folks who agreed to take a photo of me with my bike and that background is just jackpot.I love you Italy 🙂
It gets better and better as i approach towards Italian Dolomite’s.
First Pass of the day – Giau Pass
After Giau Pass,I moved towards Valaparola pass. Some landscapes in between.
Second pass to go down was Valparola, there were some World war 1 fortifications which are now turned into museum.I decided to admire from outside only.
Towards Gardena Pass
While i was in Italy,i thought of having some Italian food. You can find a lot of those authentic restaurants in small towns you cross while moving around various passes in Dolomite’s .I ordered spaghetti, but i failed to develop the taste.I just ate it for the sake of hunger and promised myself, never to divert from my regular lunch and trusted food – Chicken Burger/Hot Dog.
It was almost sunset when i reached Fedaia pass. What a beautiful day it had been for me,have seen so much green, much beautiful mountains,so many motorcycles from track to adventure, spotless curvy roads.I was so overjoyed, happy and thankful to myself that i embarked on this journey 🙂
As we descend from Fedaia,I found a camping site slightly inside from the main road.Hotels were mostly out of my budget and i figured out that i have to start pitching tent from now on because as we move further to France and Spain hotels are going to be costly affair.
Campsites are good,it’s a lovely feeling to have your bike not so far away from you.
