I rode to Hartside summit today ,lot of beautiful landscapes on the way to admire.I took lot of breaks to make sure that i soak it all in and smoke enough to keep myself warm and energized..It was a cold morning to start with 🙂
There is so much classic touch everywhere, well preserved, well placed and well colored 🙂
Climb to Hartside was short but gorgeous enough to make me stop every now and then.
I stopped at Hartside cafe to catch a relief from the cold and to take a coffee break and have some heavy breakfast. It was totally packed, like everyone there was taking refugee from the cold outside
I marked few castles north of Newcastle before escaping to Scotland.Meanwhile around highway, more distractions
Arrived in Warkworth to visit the castle ruins. And,As ruined castles go, this is quite an enjoyable and interesting place to visit.
A small rapid just few hundred meters away on the River Coquet.
Beaches along this coastline were not so fancy and water not so clear.Maybe the weather has something to do about it,or the timing was not perfect to visit.Skinny dipping was a bad idea ..So i walked around staring people, doing the Indian thing to make myself stand out 🙂
Main agenda on coming this side of the coast instead of heading straight to Edinburgh was the Bamburgh castle,One of the the iconic castle from Northumbria.I follow this series called Vikings on History channel and a lot of part in it talks/shows about the medieval kingdoms of UK including Northumbria.Made me quite keen on visiting such historic places of this part of UK.But,i have been running on bad luck today as i didn’t make it on time and the gates were closed for visitors. All i was able to do, is to admire the vastness of the castle and see the gigantic walls from all sides 🙂
Evening and it was time to settle down, found this camping site without any hassle. This has to be one of the most beautiful campsite i have ever stayed in my journey 🙂
